Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 11, 2026

Introduction

This website, yateland.com (the "Site"), is operated by Yateland Kids Limited ("Yateland," "we," "our," or "us"). We are the data controller for personal data processed through the Site. We make educational apps for children, and we take privacy seriously — on this Site and in our apps.

This policy explains what data we process on the Site, the legal bases we rely on, how long we keep data, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy rules, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Brazil's LGPD, and other applicable privacy laws. It also describes how our mobile apps approach children's privacy under COPPA and GDPR Article 8.

Who This Site Is For

The Site is a product-information website intended for parents, guardians, and educators — adults choosing apps for their children. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children on the Site. Our apps themselves are designed for children and follow the stricter rules described in "Children's Privacy in Our Apps" below.

What We Collect on This Site

The Site requires no account and has no sign-up. The data we process is limited to the following:

  • Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent where consent is required): pseudonymous identifiers stored in cookies (_ga, _ga_*), pages viewed, clicks, session information, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Google processes your IP address to derive geolocation but does not log or store it. Under the GDPR, these online identifiers are personal data — analytics data is pseudonymous, not anonymous.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics: privacy-first, cookieless aggregate metrics (page views, load performance). It sets no cookies, uses no persistent identifiers, and does not track you across sites.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection): on our Contact, Privacy, and Terms pages we use Turnstile to distinguish real visitors from automated bots. It evaluates browser signals and may process your IP address for security purposes. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • Consent geolocation: when you visit, your approximate country/region is derived from your IP address solely to determine which consent rules apply to you. This lookup is not stored on our servers.
  • Local preferences: your language choice and cookie-consent decision are stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device.
  • Email: if you contact [email protected], we receive your email address and the contents of your message.

Cookies and Consent

If you visit from the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, or certain US states and Canadian provinces, analytics is off by default. We show a consent banner, and Google Analytics is loaded only after you choose "Accept." If you choose "Decline," Google Analytics is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set. The Site works fully without analytics cookies.

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: click "Cookie Settings" in the footer of any page to change your choice at any time. If you switch to "Decline" after previously accepting, we stop Google Analytics and delete its cookies from our domain. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Cookies used: _ga and _ga_* (Google Analytics; expire after up to 24 months). Cloudflare Web Analytics and the consent banner itself use no cookies.

Legal Bases (GDPR)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): Google Analytics cookies and identifiers in regions where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): security and bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), cookieless aggregate analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics), determining applicable consent rules, and answering messages you send us.

Processors and International Transfers

We use the following service providers (processors), which may process data in the United States:

Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA or UK, the transfer is safeguarded by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework certification of the provider and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Data Retention

  • Google Analytics user-level data: retained for up to 14 months, then deleted automatically.
  • _ga cookies in your browser: expire after up to 24 months, unless you delete them earlier.
  • Consent and language preferences (localStorage): remain in your browser until you clear them.
  • Emails you send us: kept as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and meet legal obligations.

Your Rights

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data, the right to restrict or object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We respond to all requests within 30 days.

Children's Privacy in Our Apps

Our mobile apps are made for children, and we design them to comply with COPPA and GDPR Article 8:

  • No account registration or login; we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses
  • No third-party advertising and no behavioral tracking inside our apps
  • No collection of photos, videos, or audio; no precise geolocation
  • App progress and settings are stored locally on the device and are not transmitted to our servers
  • In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under platform parental controls; we never receive or store payment information

Parents and guardians may review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child's information at any time by contacting us. The website analytics described above runs only on this Site — never inside our apps.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, post a notice on the Site.
